Oct 22 :Introduction to Corel Painter X, Lucis, and Nik

This day-long class will show you how to use the various filters in Lucis to enhance, correct, and give your paintings snap. With Nik you will learn how to add soft focus, control lighting, and create great vignettes. By the end of this class you will be able to use various lighting, edge effects and brushes to accentuate a portrait in less than five minutes!

Nov 5: Corel Painter X Level II

This day-long class is for the artist with Corel Painter experience who wants to move up to the next level. Learn how to mix colors, create your own brushes, work with layers and special effects. You will learn how to create a realist, abstract, or impressionistic oil painting from an image without losing the likeness of the subject.

About the Classes

Both classes will be held at the JD Photo Imaging's training center in Flint (see map) and is limited to 20 people. The cost is $99.00 each or you can pre-register for both classes for $179.99. Photographers who attend both classes will also receive a special discount on competition-level artwork printing. Instructional material will be provided for both classes, but please bring your own computer (laptops preferred) and a wacom tablet. These classes will be hands-on. Images will be provided or you may bring your own. Plan to arrive at 8:30am for computer setup. Free parking and lunch will be provided.
